Check 1

Lukeman dashed into the florist shop and dashed out with a bunch of rose flowers. He ran after the fast-moving pick-up van like a mad man whose treasure has been taken away. He quickly stopped a motor cycle. The motor cycle race swiftly in chase of the van. Thank God for Nigerian roads. Lukeman was able to make an eye contact with the young tall pretty Chika sitting at the back seat of the pick-up van. "Will you marry me" boomed Lukeman's voice. Chika boast into an uncontrollable laughter. "Are you high"? She responded and still laughing carelessly. The driver of the van accelerated his speed after the pot-holes and Lukeman tapped the okada man to pursue and overtake. "Please, I am serious. Will you be the friend by my side till death do us part"? At this point, Chika stopped laughing. She looked at her elder brother in the front seat and turned to face her elder sister seating with her at the back seat. "What's your friend's problem"? asked Chidinma her elder sister. "Obviously he has gone insane" Chima whispered to Chika.

The next day, Lukeman woke up in an emergency ward of a physciatric hospital. He looked around him and saw strange man gazing at different directions. The man on the bed next to his gazed seriously at Lukeman's left leg hanging on the top pole of the bed all bandaged. The man looked up, looked down, looked left, looked right and looked back at Lukeman's leg. "Where am I "? Lukeman screamed.

Two years before this year, Chika was invited for a birthday party of a family friend. She had just suffered heart break from one of her Jim Jim brother in Church. She wouldn't have believed any one if she was told that brother Jim Jim will leave her. He was a perfect brother, full of the Holy Ghost and speaks in diverse tongues. She had been attended so many marriage seminars before she met brother Jim Jim. Actually his name is Jimmy Adebowale and that matches with his Jim Jim nature. Five first things to look at for a man that wants to marry you are:

(1) Is he born again? Does he have a salvation story?
(2) What is his relationship with God like?
(3) Does he share your dreams and aspirations?
(4) Is he baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues?
(5) Does he have something doing now?

This was the message of Pastor Mrs Wini, Chika's favourite marriage counselor. For her Jimmy had passed these first five tests 100%. But why did he leave her?

Our Land was pure. The grass was green. Our Water was clean. The leaves could cure. We drank from the stream With leaves bridged to the rock as cups. As we laved our body under the heavy drops, Our body needed no cream. We were at peace The Palm wine tasted like honey. The village square was our group chat. Words were strong and laughter from the heart. Love was not bought with money. Our Farms yielded with interest. We had enough to eat and ship. Our eyes are closed when we sleep. We worked, worked and had our rest. We were not at war Our Merchants traveled South, West and North. With products of trade for exchange of coins. Women were married not just for groins. Deals were made, no one was fought. Then came the experts with hats and guns. They took our lands and made us Roomers. They deceived our neighbors and made us brothers. Our rights were taken and we became their puns. We were just neighbours They joined No

This thing called life. On this edition of Everyday People I am talking about the story of a young life that would have been carelessly truncated. But God saved his Unique Life. Yes! This Life is Unique! It is Unique because of you. There is no other you. No where in this whole life. Yes Uniqueness. That’s what I am talking about? What makes a life unique is what the individual is. What attracts people or a market to you is that niche that distinguishes you from others. What is your unique selling point (USP)? There must be something you should be known for. I don’t know what it is but you have to think about it and create that uniqueness for yourself. What are you ready to be known for? What did Jesus die for? What did the apostles of old die for? What did Martin Luther die for? What did Ghandi die for? What did Idahosa die for? What is Adeboye living for? What does Oyedepo exist for? What is Kumuyi preaching for? The list is endless. What is Dr. Omalu sacrificing for

THE RENOVATED SCHOOL DISPENSARY So, we all left FGC Okigwe in 2000. Wow! That was 16 years ago! We were known as the Millennium Set. The Y2K Set.  16 Years down the line we have seen other sets hold Reunions and Parties and nothing for our Set due to the mindset that we were not united. Although, we had been meeting each other in tranches and batches at various Universities, Cities, Countries and everywhere. Of course, clicks maintained their clicks, friends maintained their friendships and people also went different ways. With the advent of cellular phones and social media (especially Facebook), hooking up became less difficult. As we began to reconnect among ourselves through the various FGC Okigwe Groups and Pages on Facebook, memories began to rewind and flashbacks became real.  The major consequences of these Flashbacks were a mixture of anger, revenge and “yabbings” that resulted from the numerous punishments, extortion, heart-breaks and what have you that hap
